Review Summary: Don't do business with this company!
Review: I ordered a $900 chair from The Backstore on Dec. 16 and they lost the shipment! It was a Christmas present and was promised between Dec. 22 and 24. When I contacted them on Dec. 26, they said they would send another out by Jan. 18! Not exactly in time for Christmas! And they would not do anything to make up for their mistake, like a discount on the chair. Lousy customer service, lousy company!

Review Summary: Back and Neck Saver
Review: Holy cow, this is a wonderful chair. I've been struggling with dinky office chairs for years because I felt bad spending more than $100 on a chair for my home office (which is my only office, so I sit here a lot). I finally wised up and realized that I was suffering from too many muscle aches and from poor posture due to my chair, and that even the most ergonomic of keyboards, mice and monitor setups would fully address the problem.
Love the adjustment possibilities, the lumbar support, the front seat adjustment that makes sure the seat supports your thighs without leaving your knees in the air, the ventilated mesh, and of course the design. It is a pleasure to see this chair in my office and work with its support.
I also like that its almost entirely made of recyclable materials (check out the Herman Miller site for info at [...]), and that the HM site has little Quicktime videos to show you how to adjust the chair. Things like that really count to me by showing that the company is responsive to its customers and their needs.
I highly recommend saving up for this chair if you can. I consider it a long-term investment with multiple personal and productivity benefits.
p.s. Also got fast shipping from the seller. Be forewarned, though: I had to call my credit card company to authorize the payment after they rejected it for being a "suspicious" purchase (online, high price).

Review Summary: Very nice chair
Review: I've had the chair for a couple of weeks now and it's been great. Overall, I like it better than the Steelcase Leap that I use at work, although the arm height adjustment on the Leap (and Aerons) is easier to use. I did try out an Aeron, and it was nice, but the Mirra seemed to be a bit simpler to adjust for sharing between different people other than the arm height adjustment. This replaced a cheap office store chair and it is far more comfortable, in short, expensive but worth the price.

Review Summary: Torqued?
Review: I got this chair for myself. I thought I'd get the Aeron, but the reviews I saw indicated that the Leap and the Mirra were the more modern successors to the Aeron. In fairness, I've never had an Aeron, so I can't compare.
It's a huge upgrade to a regular office chair in the way that a first class seat is better than coach. It has a number of adjustments to customize it to your body. I love the web seat and web-like back that don't trap heat.
It looks great - modern without looking like a science project (Aeron).
I ordered it from Amazon - via a 3rd party. It was late, and they never did send me the one I actually ordered.
The assembly instructions require a torque wrench. I used a socket and I think that worked fine. The Leap chair was easier to assemble - though neither was really a big deal; as long as you ignored measuring the torque. (What are those guys at HM thinking when they say, "Now get out your torque wrench and..."
